MSN has started their own content network
If you advertise your website with MSN’s adcenter pay per click, then you might have received an email from them in regards to switching US accounts over to allow content network advertising. This is the same thing idea as Google’s content network, but probably not as diverse as Googles. MSN sent out an email to all US advertisers allowing telling them about their content network and how each account would get upgraded. There is no word yet if MSN will allow webmasters to publish their ads, but I am sure that it will come later down the road.
Getting hurt by Duplicate Content
A lot of new webmasters make sites and do not know where to find quality content for it. Most of them do not know how to write content that will help out their seo, so they just go to those free websites to get content. There are many websites out there that have free articles that you can republish on your website to help you get some content. While this can be good for your visitors because most of them will not come across both places with the same content, it is not good for your website.
The importance of the <*h1*> tags
We have all seen this tag when coding a website or trying to make a title stand out from other text on the page, but many have asked how important is the tag? I will make it very simple, and the answer is yes it is very important. I know that you can just bold the word so it will stand out, but it is not really about that. We use <h1> tags in order to specify to the search engine spiders that whatever is within those tags is extra important and they should make sure and index it. These tags are great for putting keywords in because of how the spiders treat the tag. The cool thing is that you can make your <h1> tags look fancy with a little CSS on your site. This will break your tags away from the ordinary and make them stand out a little more for your visitors. So, instead of just making the font larger and bolding a title on your page, just use the <h1> tags to make is stand out and try to get it as close to the top of the page as possible. This is so the spiders will see it first and sometimes a spider might not even crawl all the code on a site, but the first half maybe. This is why you want to get those tags near the top of the pages.
Be careful with keyword stuffing
Any webmaster can tell you that content is king and really the key to success online. You have to be able to create a website that has a lot of content along with good structure. There has always been a lot of talk about how keyword stuffing may affect your website and its rankings. If you are not familiar with the term “keyword stuffing”, then it is pretty simple to explain. It pretty much matches what it says in regards to someone putting in multiple keywords throughout the content on a given page. The key factor in it is that the keywords actually show up more than any other words on the page. Most search engines are wise to this form of SERP manipulation, yet people still try to do it. The thing is that when you do it, it doesn’t even look right to the reader. Most can tell that you have stuffed certain keywords into the text and it just doesn’t look good.
