MSN/Live is considered to be one of the most abused search engines currently operating. While i can bring you some traffic, it’s probably not going to compare to the traffic you receive from Google or Yahoo!. But how much content is the question?
You’ll hear many different answers regarding this question, and they all do hold some weight, but the truth of the matter is that we’ve already seen the results of this and can attest that quantity is the least important part of content when it comes to SEO.
MSN has started their own content network
If you advertise your website with MSN’s adcenter pay per click, then you might have received an email from them in regards to switching US accounts over to allow content network advertising. This is the same thing idea as Google’s content network, but probably not as diverse as Googles. MSN sent out an email to all US advertisers allowing telling them about their content network and how each account would get upgraded. There is no word yet if MSN will allow webmasters to publish their ads, but I am sure that it will come later down the road.
Is MSN search Useful anymore?
This is an extremely good question. Most people out there do not even realize that MSN is a search engine anymore. They automatically think Google or Yahoo, but mostly Google. It is hard to say if and when MSN is useful because it really depends on what you search for on a regular basis. Each search engines excels in a few things and lacks in others. Yes, most of you are probably like “Google is Perfect!”. But you know what, MSN provides a lot better results when it comes to product searches than Google and Yahoo.
