Getting hurt by Duplicate Content

A lot of new webmasters make sites and do not know where to find quality content for it.  Most of them do not know how to write content that will help out their seo, so they just go to those free websites to get content.  There are many websites out there that have free articles that you can republish on your website to help you get some content.  While this can be good for your visitors because most of them will not come across both places with the same content, it is not good for your website.

They way that search engines index websites allows them to know which website had the content on it first.  So, if you take some content from the free PLR sites, then you will not get the rewards to the content.  You will also not get any reward in regards to your seo efforts.  You may think that they content on your site is great, but the search engine spiders just think of it as a copy of another website.  It not only doesn’t help you, but it can also hurt you in the serps.  This is something that we all try to gain position on, but if you put on duplicate content, then you will lose position.  Just remember that you need to write unique content on your site, even if it mean hiring a content writer.  It might cost you now, but it will help you in the future!
