Join A Blog Network?

Joining a blog network can be very beneficial for your site, but not a lot of them can actually bring you the benefit that you need for it to be worth it. You’ve often got to give up a little bit of freedom to conform to their rules, but then your content hits their sites and those affiliated with it.

This can bring in some decent traffic and also allow you to get yourself out there and more well known, but unless the networks got a great reputation, you’ll find yourself losing more than your gaining. Many of these blog networks bring you down by forcing you to link to them for what seems to be only a benefit for them.

Some of the big names in blog networks are About.com, Webblogs Inc, b5media, and BlogBurst. Each one brings something different to the table and provides their readers and blog owners with some pretty interesting services. Unfortunately you can’t just add your blog to these sites, you have to apply to them. A series of editors will usually review your blog before they approve or deny it, giving you an idea on how to move forward with improvements to get it in the right shape for the network, or just to get you up and running on their site.

So before you go joining a blog network, remembers to check the various rules and requirements each one has.
