Squarespace: The New Web Development Tool
Understanding the latest CMS and web development tools can be very useful to those of us who do SEO work. Understanding some HTML and CSS is a bare minimum in this line of work, so being able to still perform those functions with limited knowledge can be a life saver.
Squarespace, an easy to use web publishing platform, has made things even easier with the launch of their Squarespace V5. This already fully loaded service has been further upgraded and now has partnered with Oracle and Peer1 to extend things even further.
Squarespace, as a publishing platform, is an attempt to allow their users to create a website that’s more aligned with the human thought process. They’ve combined nearly all the successful aspects of other popular website publishing tools including What You See Is What You Get editors (WYSIWYG) and structured template design with CSS back end. Their fluid approach to web development allows you to use a live editing interface and even plug in different features that they’ve built for you to take advantage of. To make things easier to start, they even offer 60 customizable templates that you can make into a site so drastically different that no one could even see the resemblance.
Where other CMS lock you into premade or more difficult to code templates, Squarespace actually allows you to develop your own and work it on their well built back end very easily. This brings customization and development to a whole new level!
