The best way to get your site crawled and indexed is to get a link to your site on a webpage that is already in the search engines index.  The best is from a site that is crawled a lot by the engines because that means your site will be picked up the quickest.  If you do it this way, your site can be crawled and indexed within 8 hours.  You will never be in a search engine that fast if you just submit to it.  The reason why you get crawled and indexed so quickly it because when you site is on a page that is already in the index and has authority, so it sees your site link on there and it thinks that you might have some authority.   So if you want to get your new website in a search engine index quickly, then get a link on an established site and don’t worry about having someone submit your website or submit your own.
