MSN has started their own content network
If you advertise your website with MSN’s adcenter pay per click, then you might have received an email from them in regards to switching US accounts over to allow content network advertising. This is the same thing idea as Google’s content network, but probably not as diverse as Googles. MSN sent out an email to all US advertisers allowing telling them about their content network and how each account would get upgraded. There is no word yet if MSN will allow webmasters to publish their ads, but I am sure that it will come later down the road.
I have talked to many webmasters and some are happy about the change and some could really care less. MSN is trying to compete better with Yahoo and Google, but I do not think that their content network advertising will be as good. I have found that content networks are really bad when it comes to conversions, so I am sure that many people will opt out of the content network if they can. I have not checked to see if MSN allows you to opt out of their network advertising, but hopefully they do. I guess we will have to wait and see how it works out for advertisers with the new MSN adcenter.
